Earlier this week, lots more information about The Division 2 and the story content that players will be able to enjoy was revealed. In a new trailer, it is explained that the action-RPG's story will pit players against a variety of different factions who are all trying to get ahead after the Dollar Flu ravages Washington D.C. Of course, this led many fans to wonder how long it will take to complete the campaign.

According to The Division 2's developers, Massive Entertainment and Red Storm Entertainment, the game's story content will take approximately 40 hours for players to beat. The narrative can be played either solo, as players try to take down the game's many enemies by themselves, or cooperatively as they team up with friends.

An ESRB rating for the game confirmed that The Division 2 will feature "intense" violence, including some brutal takedowns on NPCs that take place during cutscenes. Players will also see drug paraphernalia and references as well as blood, realistic gunfire, and more grim gameplay. It seems likely that players will come across much of this kind of content throughout the story.

Beyond the story, Massive and Red Storm say that The Division 2 has been developed with the endgame in mind as well, with there having been marked changes to the Dark Zone. The Dark Zone has been given three dedicated areas in the sequel, and the studios have also added player versus player (PvP) modes called Skirmish and Domination. While PvP will be "normalized" and players won't be able to overpower each other based on loot or level, completing the game's story should help players get to grips with the mechanics.

In addition to the PvP modes, it was previously confirmed that The Division 2 will feature "dynamic" faction wars as rival groups in the game battle each other. What's more is that the streets of Washington D.C. will likely be packed full of side missions to complete, NPCs to help out, as well as secrets and Easter eggs to uncover. While Red Storm and Massive Entertainment may have given 40 hours as an estimate of completion time, actually getting to experience all, or even most, of the game's content should take a lot longer.

Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is scheduled to launch on March 15, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
