Popular action racing franchise Fast and Furious is finally gearing up for its 10th installment and has released some more details on the upcoming film. After numerous delays due to the pandemic, the film will finally begin to make headway following up the unexpectantly successful ninth film, which premiered in 2021.

The new film, which will simply be called Fast and Furious 10, recently set a release date for April 7th, 2023. Justin Lin, who has directed the last five Fast and Furious films will be returning. Lin is also set to direct the 11th or rather part two to the 10th film set to hit theaters sometime in early 2024. The two films will continue the same story, simply because there is so much to cover.

Most of the crew from the past few films will be returning for the upcoming film. Among the returning cast for the tenth film include Vin Diesel, Sung Kang, Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Nathalie Emmanuel, and Michelle Rodriguez. Vin Diesel confirmed rapper Cardi B would be returning in a more expanded role in both final films. There is a possibility Jason Statham's character from Fast and Furious 9 could be returning for a role in the upcoming film, due to the cryptic credit scene at the end of the film.

Fast and Furious began in 2001 and between all of the core films, spin-offs, animated series, and video games the franchise has made billions of dollars. The franchise centers around action-packed stories surrounding street racing, spying, crime, and betrayal. In recent years the franchise has received mixed reception from fans and critics due to drama between actors, unnecessary characters and plot lines, and of course the tragic death of Paul Walker in 2013. The franchise has had to adapt for better or worse, using CGI for Paul Walker's remaining role in the seventh film and resorting to trending actors like Dwayne Johnson and John Cena.

More spin-off films have been confirmed for the series but the upcoming two films will act as a finale to the core films. Currently, two other spin-offs with limited details are planned for the next five years. Hopefully, with no more delays, F10 will begin filming in early 2022 and meet its release date in early April of 2023.
